ROYAL MAIL DISRUPTION TO SERVICES
Due to the industrial action taking place within Royal Mail we are all experiencing difficulties with sending out packages in the weight range up to 2Kg. We are at their mercy so please bear this in mind when placing orders.
This does not affect those ordering with a value of £50 or more as we offer free shipping on all these orders and in the most part they are delivered to you by our courier partner City Link.
If you are placing orders for small items or value less than £50 we have added another postal option to guarantee you next day delivery. You can select the linkletter service in the postal option at check out. This service although added cost will mean that you can still get those important items without delay!

Free UK Mainland Delivery With Surface Tension Is Great Value For Money!
Surface Tension's Delivery Services are quick and efficient!
In order to offer you the best possible service, we offer a free delivery service on all orders over £50 in value. For the most part these deliveries are next day!
This does depend on weight though, as most items we send out that are under 2Kg will be sent 1st class recorded delivery, so to some degree we are at the mercy of Royal Mail with these items.
However, we have a good reputation for our delivery times and at least 95% of our 1st class recorded services do arrive next day.
All orders that arrive with us by 1pm will be processed for despatch the same day, if your order arrives with us after this time we will make every effort to despatch same day but we cannot guarantee this as courier collection cut off times apply.
Please note: All next day delivery schedules are based on 'next working day'
This means that if you order after 1pm or any time on a Friday expecting next day delivery this cannot be guaranteed. However, if this is important to you then we can offer guaranteed next day and Saturday delivery service at an additional cost advisable at the time of order.
Basically, if you want your order by 9am on a Saturday then we can do it! Just let us know and we will organise it. This will only reflect the extra charges incurred by us.
If you happen to be one of the lucky people that live in the extremities of our beautiful 
country, then we are likely to send your goods by Parcel Force. Sometimes this means that you will have to wait for 48 hours instead of the usual 24. We hope you don't mind this so much and feel compensated by your wonderful remote location.
All other deliveries and those over 2Kg are sent with our main delivery partner Initial City Link or as stated above Parcel Force.
For orders below £50, the following carriage charges apply.
- Up to .500kg - £3.50
- Up to 1Kg - £4.50
- Up to 1.5Kg - £6.40
- Between 1kg & 2Kg - £7.50
For lightweight and valuable items, a more expensive (fully insured) delivery service may be required, if this is the case, please make sure that these requirements are notified to us at the time of order and we will advise and arrange this for you.
For security, every package we send will have to be signed for.
We welcome overseas orders, your postage will be advised after we have received your order and you will be 
notified by email as to these costs.
Most despatches to EU destinations only take three working days and are fully trackable!
Once we have processed your order you will receive an email detailing your tracking number.

Please note: All items shipped from Surface Tension require a signature on receipt !
If you order an item and there is nobody at the delivery address to receive it (sign for it!) you will be carded by the courier. if further attempts are made to deliver to you and fail, then you will be held responsible for the return postal costs to us and subsequent re-delivery to you. So please make sure that when ordering, the delivery address is correct and if there are any special delivery instructions, they are conveyed to us at the time of ordering.
Returns Policy
Surface Tension Ltd is fully compliant with the distance selling regulations and our returns policy is here to help you and make sure that you are satisfied with any purchase you make.
If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you should download and fill in our return form 'HERE' and return the goods within seven days of purchase in a saleable condition with all packaging and labelling to us at the address on the returns form.
We will happily refund or exchange any item purchased here at Surface Tension Ltd.
We do not charge for returns, we have no restocking charges.
Returned goods must be unused, in a saleable condition and in their original packaging.
All returns must be accompanied by a completed returns form enclosed with the item
We will credit the purchasers card only, we will have to contact you about this, for your security our system never stores your card data!
If your return to us is an item that is faulty, or which you did not order, or for any other reason that is our fault, we will also pay for the cost of returning the goods to us. If this is the case, then please contact us at the earliest opportunity and we will advise you how best to return the item to us.

Consumer Protection.
The Consumer Protection 'Distance Selling' Regulations 2000 provide a cooling off period and an unconditional right to cancel during that period.
The purpose of the cooling off period is to allow the consumer the opportunity they would have had in a conventional shop to examine the goods before deciding to buy.
The cooling off period starts at the time the order was made and ends seven working days after the day of receipt of goods.
The Regulations require that the consumer send to the seller a notice of cancellation in writing, including fax or e-mail to this effect within the time period stated.
Security.
All information supplied to us by you is treated in the strictest confidence.
Surface Tension Ltd has to collect information such as contact details for the purpose of efficient customer service and 'In House' marketing for the benefit of our customers.
We do not share or sell our mailing lists, or any other information we have obtained through carrying out our business with you.
When ordering and paying on-line.
When you enter the ordering process this is conducted within the SSL framework of our website and all information is encrypted. Even if this information was intercepted it would be totally useless. We have used this system for over five years now and have not been intercepted or had an order missed in this time.
You will not be transferred to 3rd party payment sites as is the case with many other payment systems where security cannot be guaranteed regardless of what Logo's are proudly displayed denoting how safe a site it is.
The important thing to check is that there is a padlock sign displayed. This usually appears in the top or bottom right of your screen within your browser.
When information is sent through our SSL this information is encrypted and an authentication certificate is published.
This certificate contains a public key which can only be decrypted by the private key only available to Surface Tension Ltd.
Your payment details are then scrambled and sent within this secure system and our held prior to processing your order.
Once your order is processed our system ensures that all your payment details our deleted completely from our system. This is excellent for security and also for the peace of mind of both you the customer and us the seller.
This does mean a slight inconvenience for return customers having to submit payment details for each purchase but this has to better than poor security!
If you are not happy with entering your details over the internet then this is no problem to us either, we will be happy to take any orders or enquiries over the phone or via email.
